Each and every desktop or notebook or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that interacts with the computer hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, together with any applications that are currently installed on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a web server, any app runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, which means that you will be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

Our VPS server solutions feature three Linux releases that you may select from for the Operating System of your new web server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Aside from being totally free, the OSs are really stable and risk-free and the main reason to offer you the three of them is to make sure that you'll be able to run every app that you would like, because different pieces of software could have different requirements when it comes to the environment they work on. Each of the three OSs is supported by a vast community of developers who have made a large number of software packages which you can install and use on your VPS. Based on the Operating System which you choose, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to control your web hosting content. Needless to say, if you decide that you need a new OS, we could always reinstall the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also offer weekly updates of the Operating System for optimum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

If you decide to purchase one of our dedicated servers, you shall find three Operating Systems on the registration page as we want to give you a broader choice for the system environment on your server as different apps could have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian come with different modules developed by their huge support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and benefit from a reliable and safe hosting service. Based on your decision, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Needless to say, we can always change the Operating System if the one you've selected initially doesn't meet the requirements of the software that you want to run. We can also upgrade your OS routinely to keep it as risk-free as possible with our Managed Services upgrade package.
