It restricts the access which a script has exclusively to its own folder, so in case one of your websites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to access any other content in your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Of course, employing JailHost won't substitute the security measures you should always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, yet it will enable you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Cloud Hosting

You can take full advantage of JailHost with every single cloud hosting plan that we provide and protect your websites against attacks really easy. Every single domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel that comes with our solutions has a different folder and contrary to what often happens with other Control Panels, the site content is not mixed up within a single main folder, so maintaining your sites separate is a lot easier. Activating JailHost for any site takes only a few clicks, so even when you do not have a lot of experience, you will not need any specific skills in order to keep your websites secure. The option isn't active by default in case that you wish to use a script that needs access to another folder inside your account. If you use JailHost, the other Internet sites that you have will be secured, but even a hacked one will not remain affected for long because we'll have a couple of daily backup copies for it all of the time, so that we can easily recover it.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server plans and you'll be able to activate it with a few clicks. It is not enabled by default as we do not want to prevent some scripts which need to access multiple folders in the account from functioning properly. You will be able to enable JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done quickly even when you do not have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have individual folders that could be "locked". In contrast, other popular Control Panels have add-on domains and the content of the latter is kept in the primary domain folder, so when a single site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. In case an Internet site gets damaged despite your efforts, we'll be able to recover it the way it was almost instantly because we'll have a couple of daily backups of your entire account.
