A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be surprisingly easy if you have a cloud plan with our company. You can activate the feature through our advanced, yet simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is an essential part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage the shared hosting account itself. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve created displayed alphabetically and on the right-hand side of each one of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you whether a particular mailbox stores all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature at any moment. In case there’s activated email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will receive a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be enabled without effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in your account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small-size icon conveniently located directly next to each of them. With only a single click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature through the contextual menu that will appear. In case any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
