The dot SE ccTLD was established in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration process was quite restrictive, so a very limited number of domain names were grabbed. Individuals were allowed to buy only one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was a requirement, i.e. merely Swedish individuals, companies and organizations were able to book a .SE domain.
